Our vision is simple: to make Rutherford a place where everyone feels secure, valued, and proud to call home. Together, we can move forward with common sense solutions that benefit all residents.
Doug and Rich are running for Rutherford Borough Council with the full endorsement of Mayor Frank Nunziato.
As Councilmembers, we pledge to work closely with Mayor Nunziato and our Council colleagues. We will use our experience in Rutherford to:
Lead with kindness, respect, and civility, even when we disagree
Help Rutherford grow so our children will want to return with cherished memories when they've grown
Make sure Rutherford's building obligations are met responsibly and intelligently
Maintain Rutherford's reputation as a safe, inclusive and inviting community for all who live, work and visit

Build relationships with Borough employees to understand their needs, while maintaining our budgetary obligations & residents' expectations

It's long been my dream to give back to this town that I've called home for 20 years. The Rutherford friends and neighbors who became family have taught me the importance of listening and understanding the needs of all residents. Rutherford is special, and if we continue to make small improvements each year, together, it will remain special for those of us here now as well as future generations.

Volunteering in Rutherford has been one of the most rewarding things I've had the opportunity to do in my life. This is a wonderful town and the people who live here are so important to me and my family. As an active volunteer for years, I've been listening to the needs my fellow residents and am ready to contribute in a more impactful manner.
Message from Mayor Nunziato
When I first spoke with Doug and Rich about their aspirations for our Borough Council, I was reminded of my own journey into public service. Like me, they began as dedicated volunteers. I coached for my kids' teams and was an EMT for the Rutherford Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Doug has been active in our schools as well as our Library and most recently Planning Board, and Rich through coaching, the Rutherford Education Foundation and the Lincoln School PTA.
It's obvious both are driven by a deep love for our community and family. And since they are so active and accessible, they intuitively understand the needs of fellow residents.
I wanted to do more serving Rutherford in government service — as do they.
They recognize that leadership isn’t just about maintaining the status quo, but about fostering growth and preparing the next generation to lead responsibly and collaboratively.
Rutherford thrives because of its volunteers and difference of opinions by its engaged citizens.
Doug and Rich embody this spirit, bringing fresh perspectives and a commitment to preserving what makes Rutherford special while embracing opportunities for improvement. Their dedication to ensuring our town remains a vibrant, inclusive, and well-managed community is evident in their vision.
As someone who has worked tirelessly to honor Rutherford’s past while planning for its future as a life long resident, I trust Doug and Rich to continue this mission.
